Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District Computer Science Vision Statement:
When we provide equitable access to Computer Science education for all and across all disciplines, students will be informed digital global citizens who:
- can persist in the face of creative and/or complex challenges,
- evolve with the ever changing technological world,
- will be ethical, active, and informed contributors to our increasingly technological society,
- are college or career ready.
Curriculum alignment to the Massachusetts Digital Literacy & Computer Science Standards:
Educators in the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District will use the Massachusetts Digital Literacy and Computer Science standards when developing and implementing curriculum.

The Dennis Yarmouth Regional School District will ensure the technology needs of all staff members and students are met.
- Ongoing communication with administration, teachers, parents, and community members about technology vision and use in the schools.
Action Steps:
1. Consistently share up-to-date information and resources via District digital platforms to increase understanding of technology use in and beyond the classroom. Provide accessible guidance to help families support safe, responsible use at home.
2. Maintain a Digital Literacy Computer Science Stakeholder Committee to eleicit input from stakeholders in our community. The Committee may be made up of administrators, teachers, students, parents, community members and business owners, and meets regularly to set goals, review practices, explore new technology opportunities and make recommendations for improving technology-enhanced teaching and learning in the Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District.
3. Establish a sub-committee to track evidence of progress and communicate updates to stakeholder groups and and the EdTech Committee. Conduct a comprehensive review and update of the District Techology Plan every 2-3 years to keep pace with rapidly changing technology.
4. Facilitate administraton of faculty surveys to garner feedback and share insights about technology comfort levels, use of technology, skill acquisition and program effectivess. Analyze the results to guide plannind and support.

1. Provide on-going in-school support to ensure 100% of DYRSD educators can independently navigate and utilize the Distict’s core digital learning platforms for student learning, assessment, grading and feedback.

The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District is committed to empowering educators and administrators to confidently design meaningful digital learning experiences that support student engagement, creativity, and real-world problem solving. We prioritize the thoughtful and intentional use of technology, ensuring that digital tools enhance instruction while maintaining meaningful human connection in the following ways:
- Differentiated Learning Pathways: The District will provide tiered professional development during scheduled professional learning time, offering multiple levels of training. This approach allows educators to select learning opportunities aligned with their current proficiency and instructional goals.
- Collaborative Innovation & Peer Leadership: Expert technology users will serve as peer leaders to facilitate collaborative learning cycles. In these cycles, educators will actively teach and mentor one another to design, iterate, and scale technology-rich, innovative lessons across the district.
- Applied Instructional Mastery: PD sessions will move beyond basic tool use to include model lessons and guided workshops. These sessions will support instructional planning, assessment design, and the implementation of the DY DLCS vision.
- Strategic Induction for New Staff: A targeted induction program will prioritize hands-on mastery of core digital tools for all new educators. This ensures educators are prepared from their first day to integrate and access all technology systems required for daily instructional practice.
- Ethical & Future-Ready Leadership: Through continuous learning, staff and administrators will advance their technological proficiency, with a specific focus on the ethical implications of Artificial Intelligence, data privacy, and digital safety.
Action Steps:
1. Provide targeted technology training and ongoing support for all staff, incuding hands-on workshops, modeling in the classroom and coaching, to enable seamless integration of District-approved technologies across all content areas and instructional practices.
2. Develop and maintain self-paced instructional modules to ensure all staff have access to up-to-date tutorials for using District-approved technologies, to enhance instruction and to support learning.
3. Create a PD system with categories: practicing, applyin and innovating for staff to select training based on their experience. Staf who demonstrate technology integration in content areas may facilitate PD sessions.
4. Provide annual technology orientation sessions and on-going support for newly hired staff, covering the gradebook platform, Google Workspace, digital curricula and relevant policies and practices.
5. Increase awareness and understanding of the DYRSD DLCS (Digital Literacy & Computer Science) vision and prepare educators to integrate DLCS standards into instructional practice and student learning activities.
6. Provide ongoing modeling and coaching for staff on integrating Universal Design for Learning strategies with assistive technology, enabling teachers to creat accessible learning experiences that support diverse learners.
7. Provide ongoing modeling and coaching for staff on leveraging digital curriculum resources.

The Dennis-Yarmouth Regional School District will provide and maintain an infrastructure that provides equity of access to technology as well as efficiency in the use of evolving technology for all staff and students.
Action Steps:
1. Provide and maintain interactive projection systems (including sound( and document cameras for use in all academic classrooms.
2. Instill robust use of Internet and cloud-based applications while decreasing reliance on licensed/instaled software.
3. Evaluate the need for portable amplfication systems in every classroom.
4. Continue to provide state-of-the-art hardware and applications to enhance instruction, learning and data management.
5. Evaluate printing needs in the District. Continue the transition toward centralized printing locations.
6. Continue to utilize a monitoring/filtering solution to ensure a safe online learning environment for our students.
7. Maintain a 1:1 environment for grades Kindergarten-Grade 12.
8. Support the efforts to create 21st century learning spaces in all DYRSD school libraries.
9. Continue to provide high-speed Internet in school. Provide information about Internet options to families to increase equitable access outside the school building.
10. Provide a direct connection to the network and Internew through wireless capabilities in all classroom and meeting/event areas in each DYRSD school building.
11. Assess an upgrade wireless and fixed network access on an annual basis to ensure bandwidth demands are met.
